The Pawsitive Life Foundation is a nonprofit organization with the mission to save dogs and train them to enrich and save the lives of people. We rescue dogs and train them to provide early cancer detection in humans, as well as, provide therapy and service dog assistance for war veterans, children with illnesses, and those in need.
SENSE OF SMELL
A dog’s sense of smell is so keen and accurate that they can identify the chemical traces of cancer in the range of parts per trillion. (Equivalent to being able to detect a drop of blood in an Olympic sized swimming pool!) This means that a dog can detect the presence of cancer in humans
CanCER DETECTION
Imagine going to your doctor for your yearly check-up and simply breathing into a special tube to later be screened by a trained cancer detection dog. Your sample is analyzed for the presence of chemical traces of cancer.

A Dog’s Nose always knows cancer stinks!
Any breed of dog can successfully be trained to “sniff” for cancer. We teach this highly effective skill by training dogs to identify a very distinctive scent, or biochemical marker, that is emitted by the human body when cancer is present. A dog’s sense of smell is so keen and accurate the they detect the presence of cancer months before it will show up on any current medical test we have today.
